'Wonder Woman 2' Officially Scheduled for Release November 1, 2019

Warner Brothers and DC have shifted release date for the next Wonder Woman film. Originally slated for a December 13, 2019 bow, the date has been bumped up to November 1, 2019. That gets Wonder Woman 2 out of the way of Star Wars: Episode IX and into a slot which currently has zero competition.

Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot will return for the sequel, which is said to take place during the 80s in peak Cold War times. If you can't wait until 2019 to see Gadot don Wonder Woman's bracelets again, you can see her this weekend in the big budget team-up, Justice League. And if you want another 80s-set, bad-ass female action flick, I highly recommend Atomic Blonde, which is now available on demand.

The current DC Extended Universe release schedule currently looks like this:

  • Justice League - November 17, 2017
  • Aquaman - December 21, 2018
  • Shazam - April 5, 2019
  • Wonder Woman 2 - November 1, 2019
  • Cyborg - April 3, 2020
  • Green Lantern Corps - July 24, 2020
Plus the currently in development, but undated Suicide Squad 2, Flashpoint, Man of Steel 2, Matt Reeve's Batman, Batgirl, Deathstroke, Black Adam, Justice League Dark, Nightwing, and Gotham City Sirens. What are the odds all of these actually happen?
