Sony Lands Next Tarantino Film; Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie Circling

Sony Pictures has won the rights to finance and distribute Quentin Tarantino's next film, said to involve Charles Manson. The victory comes after Tarantino left his usual producers The Weinstein Company following the sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein. It's said that just about every studio in town, except for the family-friendly Disney, was chasing the film.

Tarantino wants Margot Robbie to play Sharon Tate in the film, and has approached Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio for the two lead roles. It's currently unclear if there's a third role available should all three wish to sign on.

The untitled film is set in the late 60s, early 70s of Los Angeles. The plan is for a mid-2018 production start and a 2019 release.
